In this interview segment, in the second time that she says the word here, Lolly Metcalf pronounces the affricate [ tɬ ] especially clearly, almost as a syllable onto itself in the middle of the word.  It is so distinct that it might be mistaken as an ejective affricate, but we think that it is just a plain affricate.   

In her work with Melville Jacobs, Annie Miner Peterson said only words meaning 'duck' other than this word.  Those words refer to specific kinds of ducks.
